Job description
About the Role
At Ahamove, an Accounts Payable does more than process invoices — you own the outgoing cash flow, protect the accuracy of our financial statements, and surface operational risks before they become problems.
This role is the ideal foundation for someone who wants to build deep accounting expertise and grow into the Finance & Accounting team at one of Vietnam's fastest-growing on-demand logistics platforms.
Key Responsibilities
1. Payment Control & Execution (50%)
Every payment processed correctly is a commitment honored to our vendors — and a risk prevented for Ahamove.
- Review & approve payment requests: validate supporting documents, verify amounts, due dates, and payment terms before execution — you are the first control gate in the AP cycle.
- Execute vendor payments: ensure accurate beneficiary details and strict adherence to payment terms — directly building Ahamove's financial credibility with strategic partners.
- Manage month-end accruals: proactively identify unrecorded invoices and accrue expenses in the correct period — ensuring P&L reflects true costs and preventing expense understatement.
- Monitor AP aging: identify overdue items early and prioritize payments by operational impact — minimizing late-payment penalties and supply chain disruption.
2. Reconciliation & Financial Reporting (35%)
This is where you turn payment data into meaningful insights for Finance leadership.
- Reconcile AP balances against vendor statements: identify discrepancies between books and actuals — safeguarding Balance Sheet accuracy and maintaining audit readiness at all times.
- Perform month-end & year-end inventory reconciliation: partner with Operations to reconcile physical and book inventory.
- Prepare monthly non-cash payment & expense reports: analyze cost variances by vendor and category, flag anomalies for Finance Manager review — your first exposure to FP&A thinking.
- Support month-end & year-end close: ensure the AP sub-ledger ties to the General Ledger and deliver accurate data on schedule for the financial reporting cycle.
3. Document Management & Compliance (10%)
The foundation of every clean audit — systematic document management is itself an expression of control mindset.
- Maintain a structured document archive (invoices, contracts, PR/POs, bank statements)
- Process bank transactions and reconcile bank statements against the ledger — identify and resolve unmatched items promptly.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and tax regulations: all transactions must align with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS), internal policies, and VAT invoice requirements.
4. Process Improvement (5%)
- Proactively identify workflow bottlenecks and propose improvements — the mindset that separates someone who executes from someone who thinks in systems.
Job requirement
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, or a related field
- Solid understanding of the end-to-end AP cycle: from purchase order through payment execution and reconciliation
- Strong grasp of accrual accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and month-end close processes
- Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets
- Able to read and interpret contracts and payment terms in both Vietnamese and English
- Detail-oriented and accurate — you understand that a small AP error can materially misstate financial statements
Nice to have:
- Hands-on experience with accounting software (MISA, SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of Vietnamese VAT invoice requirements, withholding tax on foreign contractors, and related AP tax obligations
- Background in e-commerce, logistics, fintech, or any high-transaction-volume environment
- Experience participating in month-end close cycles or supporting internal / external audits
Along the way you will be exposed to: VAS / IFRS, internal audit processes, ERP systems, Finance automation tools, and direct collaboration with the Finance Manager on process optimization initiatives.
